The aim of the Centre de Biologie pour la Gestion des Populations (Biology Centre for Population Management) is to understand the mechanisms that govern the evolution of populations of organisms that are important for agronomy, forestry, human health or the conservation of biodiversity.
CBGP conducts academic research, while ensuring that the results of its research programmes can be used to develop scenarios or decision-making tools for managing pests and diseases or preserving endangered species.
To improve pest control strategies and identify ways of conserving threatened natural populations, we need to know how they respond to the constraints to which they are subject.
Beyond its primary research and training mission, CBGP is involved in raising awareness, popularising and mediating science for the general public around the themes of biodiversity, ecology and evolutionary biology.
