Pest Insect Rearing and Experimentation Technician (M/F)

INRAE is recruiting a pest insect rearing and experimentation technician (M/F) for the CBGP

Important: This position is open exclusively to civil servants and staff on permanent contracts within the three civil service sectors.

You will contribute to several research programmes focusing on invasive insect pests, including the spotted wing fruit fly (Drosophila suzukii) and the Asian ladybird (Harmonia axyridis). This research aims to identify the biological and environmental factors that influence their adaptation and population dynamics, with a view to developing sustainable management strategies.

This role will place you at the heart of the experimental set-ups required to generate scientific data. You will help to maintain breeding populations, conduct experiments and characterise a wide range of biological traits, with a view to gaining a better understanding of the evolutionary ecology of these species. You will also contribute to projects aimed at studying the role of certain genes in the expression of traits of interest.
