My research aims to investigate the eco-evolutionary factors driving rodent invasions in Africa, and the public health consequences of these invasions. Conducted in various geographical contexts (Senegal, Mali, Madagascar), it is driven by several motivations:

  1. to advance knowledge of biological invasions, a major component of global change, in Africa;
  2. to identify the zoonotic risk posed by rodents, several species of which are recognised as major invasive species and reservoirs of zoonoses, in order to help define appropriate surveillance and control strategies;
  3. and, finally, to raise awareness and provide training in invasion biology in the Global South. These involve a range of approaches, primarily field ecology, parasitology, immunoecology and population genetics.
