Virginie Dupuy, who has been appointed as a research engineer in virology at the IRD, took up her post on 1 March 2024.

Virginie will join the Molecular Biology platform and will work on developing high-throughput sequencing protocols for whole viral genomes. She will also be responsible for developing ‘unbiased’ virome approaches for small mammal samples. The genomic data generated in this way will be used to inform phylogenetic analyses and to better characterise the zoonotic risk associated with the small mammals studied by researchers in Research Area 3.
