Topic: To analyse survey data on infection with the Seoul Orthohantavirus and leptospires for the HANTARIS project, Cotonou, Benin.
Dates: 1 June 2026 – 31 December 2026
CBGP managers: G. Dobigny & G. Castel
The aim of this contract is to analyse data from survey questionnaires completed by individuals who underwent serological testing for Seoul Orthohantavirus and leptospirosis as part of the HANTARIS project in Cotonou, Benin.
In order to highlight risk factors linked to activities and practices, surveys were conducted in parallel with screening campaigns among port workers in Cotonou and among patients with fever at a health centre in the city. This analysis will take into account both the occupational context and the activities carried out in each of the areas where the zoonotic pathogens under study circulate within animal reservoirs. Socio-environmental factors and domestic or occupational practices associated with greater exposure to rodents and the virus will thus be investigated.
