Mes recherches en écologie de la santé ont pour thématique générale les interactions entre petits mammifères (rongeurs, insectivores, chirpotères) et pathogènes. Elles visent à décrire ces interactions, leur variabilité dans le temps et l’espace, et à comprendre les mécanismes écologiques qui régissent leur évolution. Dans le cadre de l’étude des zoonoses et des risques d’émergence, je m’attache à caractériser les réservoirs et les agents de zoonoses, à analyser les processus macro- et microévolutifs qui façonnent la diversité des interactions réservoirs/pathogènes, et à évaluer l’impact des coinfections et des flores microbiennes sur la sensibilité des petits mammifères à certains pathogènes potentiellement zoonotiques. Je développe ces recherches dans le cadre de projets pluri- et trans-disciplinaires afin de co-construire des stratégies de gestion des petits mammifères qui soient ‘gagnant-gagnant’ pour la conservation de la biodiversité et pour la santé publique.
