Following the 2020-2022 ASU-USAID project, an agent-based model was developed by the CBGP to simulate the population dynamics of the Senegalese locust, Oedaleus senegalensis.
Esther will need to refine the model by incorporating an economic cost-benefit analysis, analyse the model under various scenarios, and share the results with academic partners and the local community concerned. Two field visits will provide an opportunity to gain an understanding of local issues, share knowledge with other project members, and evaluate the model’s outputs with local communities.
