Topic: Maintenance of experimental strains

Amélie is taking over from Candice Deschamps on her GABP activities, initially focusing on maintaining nine experimental populations of Drosophila suzukii, which will eventually be combined with the maintenance of three strains of Harmonia axiridis. The second part of Amélie’s work will involve estimating the growth rates of various yeast and bacterial strains, axenising and maintaining a strain of D. suzukii, and comparing the effect of different microbial strains on the growth of larvae of this strain in various fruit media.
