I am responsible for the taxonomy and morphological systematics of the main family of crop-damaging mites, the Tetranychidae: assessing biodiversity and detecting invasive species, identifying and describing new taxa, developing identification tools, and conducting taxonomic revisions (of genera or groups of species) to make the current classification more consistent. This work mainly concerns the European continent and, on a more ad hoc basis, the whole world depending on collaborations. These activities are carried out in close collaboration with Alain Migeon, particularly for the molecular aspects within the framework of integrative approaches.
In addition, my knowledge of the biological characteristics of the Tetranychidae family enables me to play an active role in projects focusing on the ecology and biological control of mites belonging to this family.
I am also an associate editor of the journal Acarologia.
