Marie-Pierre CHAPUIS

Researcher, Cirad

Area(s)

I am interested in the molecular and evolutionary ecology of crop-damaging insect populations, with a view to understanding their evolutionary history (e.g. the geographical origin of populations, reconstruction of invasion or colonisation routes) or their current dynamics (e.g. dispersal). This work may involve a systematic review of the taxa studied, the characterisation of environmental factors (e.g. landscape or gut microbiota), and the development of molecular or statistical analysis methods.

Keywords: ecology, evolution, population genetics, biological invasion, locust, fruit fly, crop pests, high-throughput sequencing.
