Benjamin will design and carry out various experiments aimed at estimating the rate of Wolbachia-induced sterility in males of different strains of Drosophila suzukii. In particular, he will establish a protocol for estimating the hatching rate of eggs on photographs using an artificial intelligence model, and a protocol for counting and sorting eggs and larvae using COPAS (a large-object cytometer). He will work on the PARSADA OPTIMISTII project.
