Topic: Development of an operational version 3 of the DIYABC-RF package Dates: 1 June 2026 – 30 June 2027 CBGP supervisor: M. Gautier
This development will comprise six phases:
Stage 1: Disconnect the original DIYABC ‘training set simulator’;
Stage 2: Connect the MS Prime simulator and retain the upstream interface (scenario definition) and RF analyses;
Stage 3: Implement the MS Prime output for statistical summaries in C++;
Stage 4: Implement new statistical summaries describing allele frequency spectra;
Stage 5: Create the user documentation;
Stage 6: Applications/illustrations (i) on ‘in silico’ datasets for which the true values are known (i.e. simulated) to demonstrate the improvement in inference (model selection and parameter estimation) achieved by version 3 of DIYABC-RF, incorporating phases 1 – 5, and (ii) on real datasets to illustrate concrete cases in population genetics (the evolution of invasive species populations and human populations).
